I've been reading these forums and learned a lot over time, and I thought I should join and share my skills and experiences that might hopefully help someone else the same way others here have done.
I farm in Central Alberta and primarily raise yaks for direct marketing meat, and a bit of breeding stock here and there, and try to grow all the winter feed. I've committed to organic farming which certainly has some additional challenges. And I'm all about trying new strategies and species, and while I don't have too much experience with them, I can definitely nerd out researching forage in front of the fire.
Other than that, I spent almost 25 years as an auto mechanic, and try regularly to adapt those skills to old farm machinery whether I really want to or not.
