Will these work on silage bales? Any models to stay away from?

I don't know about silage bales, but we rolled some miserable stuff (mostly orchard grass and fescue) for mulch at the landfill-it steamed for about a week but did not burn. Was glued together like you couldn't believe. We had the unit that is for mulching, can't remember the number right now and it would grind and then blow about 100 feet. Ate all of those mulch bales without issue and blew mold spores for miles.

We bought a bale processor this past winter. Looked at haybuster and demoed one also. Wound up and bought a vermeer bpx9000. It was heavier made and less money than haybuster. And I can say from experience that whatever you put in it, it will grind up. I'm very pleased with vermeer. The haybuster models we looked at was a 2650 and 2655 but I liked the vermeer better.
That's just my .02

Thanks. I've priced some out, ouch. Anyone use a case/ih 8610 or Heston bp25 for silage bales? I've heard they get around well.

There are tons of Vermeers around here. Never seen a Haybuster in person.

Thanks for the link. Roto grind looks good. Do they feed a bunk well?
