My wife bought this piece of farm equipment in Lancaster County PA 15-20 years ago and was told it was a hay cutter/chopper. We used as decoration in our back yard and as you can see wood has rotted. I am going to replace wood but wondered how it was used and where I can find a picture of what it should look like.

That is part of a grass seeder I just sold a complete one last year. Sorry I don't have pictures or a brand name but my seeder had that wheel and arm.

We had one of those against the fence row for years. I do not know what happened to it.

My grandfather used it to chop corn stalks and also cotton stalks.

I replaced the wood and loosened up rusted metal pieces. It appears that when you push or pull it their is a scissoring acton. Must have took a while to cut stalks. Bicycle Plant Plant community Wheel Bicycle wheel
