The only good news in that info is the relative penalty for bagging is getting less. Too bad you can’t get stabilized urea in a bag

How are people finding the 2023 prices? I am getting a quote on a field.

I had an opportunity to fertilize early 2021 but delayed til first cut was done, then the price jumped up and I cancelled. My fields need fertilizer but I've been cheap.

They were still high (3x) over say 4 or so years ago but then I got a call from a supplier after the quote that said they had dropped 10-15%. Still way more than 4 years ago. As long as the Russian make war on Ukraine, they will remain ridiculous. Who knows after that.

I bought some urea, ams and some blends end of December. A friend called me up this past week and he had just bought urea and 30% nearly much cheaper than I did. The nitrogen side seems to be softening if you can take delivery and store now.

If I continue using the same fertilizer rate as past years I would have almost $4.00 In each small square bale in just fertilizer. Something going to haft to change I don’t think people are going to pay 12.00-15.00 a bale for small squares. Not looking good for the farmer.

I just talked to my supplier. Urea was $958/ton last year and this year is $685/ton. Amonium Sufate $825/ton last year and $560/ton this year. So it is down at least some. I went ahead and booked on these prices and plan to apply in April here in Missouri. I figure I'll have about $15-$17 of fertilizer in each 4x5 round bale.

i shoot for 75 a cutting but sometimes it’s 40 or 100 bales. Just depends on weather even though it’s irrigated the right weather still makes a huge difference. Normal fertilizer price I will have just over a 1.00 a bale.
