My old trusty JD moisture meter finally is on the fritz. Temp reads temp for a split second then starts a count. So, just checking-I assume that the Delmhorst F2000 is still the go to moisture tester. It will only be used on small squares (14 x 18) so I am assuming that the 10" probe is sufficient. My bales are dense for squares-I run the tension at 2 atm. Do I need to go with the handle kit? if not, I don't want to as they are a pain. However, the Delmhorst site says if you make dense bales the handle avoids wear and tear on the unit. I have never had much issue with getting the current probe into a bale from either cut side. Have with some round bales but never sm sqs. Thanks.

I have been using the HT-Pro....mainly for round bales. Don't really need a hand held for smalls with an inline moisture meter and preservative unless you want to do like tazz says and check them in the stack.

Regards, Mike
