New Holland Round baler discontinued parts

Can you remind us what’s wrong with yours? I feel like the drive end is both worn down plus bent?

I’m going to pose this question here since it came up on your Facebook post and I’m sure Mike will know the answer.

What would one have to do to install a 648 drive roll instead, if it can be done?

I think they are the same. Last year the part numbers were the same. Maybe you or someone else recently said they were different.

I certainly didn’t spend much time on it but 644 drive roll is part number 86512920 and 648 86637321 with the former not mentioning superseding to the latter.

A 648 will not work without modifying the frame. The 648 uses a larger bearing and housing. A roll from a 640 would work after changing the right bearing and support to what the 644 uses. Have you contacted Drane Farm Equipment in KY. They have a large selection of parts balers. There is also another company with the name drane down there who also deals is used parts.
