OOPS I failed to mention needing to removing PH from bale chamber to access the nuts.

I completely rebuilt my 268 plunger 2 years ago. Getting the plunger out wasn't that hard at all and it made it 10 times easier to do anything to bearings. Made a whole new Baler out of it

Any tips on getting the plunger out?

After releasing any bale forming tension then remove any hay from bale case, remove any "bolt in hay resistors" if applicable, block bale compression channels clear of bale case, remove PH connecting rod arm bolts(item 27) from crankshaft. Attach chain to face of plunger head & gently pull PH rearward keeping connecting rod from hanging in opening in lower front of bale case

I'm gonna dig in tomorrow.....Anyone change these and see better results in the bales themselves? Also, anyone know why I keep getting a PILE of orange cuttings on one knotter more than the other? Bales tie tight and hold well, just seems like something is wrong with that knotter or could be.

the bales could get better at least in appearance because you’ll end up with a better knife gap when you’re finished.

both knotters are leaving cut string, one side is just falling off the baler more frequently.
