Ditto most towed hay implements that are pto operated with offset pto that when turning left the driveshaft vibrates more than when turning to the right.

Yep. Dog legs in fields can be broken up like the other fellers already said. Sometimes a dog leg can simply be made to be a sweeping turn. There's some fields on this farm that are impossible to mow/rake nice and even. No real shape to them, plus some additional washes with trees and brush in it to have to go around, in addition to dog legs. Wastes more time than I'd like, but it is what it is.

Thanks folks. I have been doing that. Does anyone mow in 2 parcels, then tedder rake and bale as one?

I have an L shaped field that I cut/bale in the shape of a wide U then clean up the inside corner and outside corner. It make it easier to keep turning the right way and less dinking and dunking at least until the very end.
