Krone 46T Tine Height???

Just setting up my new rake. The manual leaves a little to be desired. What would be a good starting point for tine to ground measurement? Thanks in advance.

P.S.

What is your mowing height? I’m at 3.5-3.75 and believe rake teeth are at 2.5+-

Adjustments are easy in the field if you’re missing hay.

Like IH says - initially set to stubble height or just under, then adjust on the fly in the field. Your fields will dictate height a little bit as well. The more level and even they are, the lower you can run the rake without adding ash to the crop by grounding the teeth.

Run them as high as you can, while still getting a clean sweep of the crop.

Thank you for the input. I'll definitely have to raise the times some. They are currently set at about 2". That will definitely be too low for all the humps in the field.

Or you can set them as my cousin does. 1-2” into the ground. His theory is he can rake faster. To each their own. I don’t like buying rake teeth.
Better to leave $10 worth of hay in the field then a rake tooth that can cause so much more damage. Always depends on how smooth your fields are.
