I have a john deere 567 bailer when I dump a bale the gate shuts on the belts. The bailer squills and sometimes smokes until belts get pulled out. Anyone have any idea, I don't want it to pull my splices apart.

Sounds typical for low hyd flow causing tension arm not to lower before tailgate lowers.

Another possibility is hyd bale tension on baler set too low. Where's the needle setting on baler hyd gauge after bale core has been created? . What is tractor brand/model?

If scv have flow control valve then have you increased speed of hyd cylinder operation. If increasing hyd scv hyd oil speed doesn't help I suggest to remove disc hyd oil restrictor(item 29) between bale hyd coupling & hyd hose end.

You were right on the money. A friend of mine rebuilt my remotes on my 4250 john deere over the winter. That remote was turned down to almost nothing. I turn it up and it work as it should. I never thought that.

Thanks for update. I'm glad for you that correction of rd baler tailgate operation was that easy/simple.
