We having trouble getting it to start the netwrap have to pull the rope to try it again it just seems like the roll of netwrap doesn't turn very easy sometimes it tears the wrap in the middle but most of the time seems like the wrapping won't catch and get going. Any help would be appreciated

Which netwrap attachment does your 535 have early or late style? Does rear door fold down or up? First thing I recommend checking is clearances between bale forming belts & net guide attached to tailgate. Have you checked to determine that net drive pulley rotates when bale reaches pre-set size? Will twine arms cycle as designed?

No experience with that series JD but I have considerable experience with all the later models except for 7 series.
Is the net roll orientated to roll the proper direction? Don't ask me if I've ever made that mistake

Netwrap attachment door folding up is later style. Do you have operators manual # 87620? If not you can download a free OM @ Search for Equipment Publications - Technical Information Store
