Hi guys! Went and looked at a ih 574 and the clutch doesn't engage until the pedal is almost completely released. Is that mean clutch is bad or does pedal need adjustment? Also brake pedal is stiff as could be. Brakes work great locks up but I've never felt a brake pedal that stiff. Also e brake does not work. Any and all thoughts comments and concerns are appreciated!

The clutch may or may not be worn. It could be that the pedal free travel was never set right. If the clutch can handle full power without slipping, then adjust the free travel and go on with life.

Our parking brake on one of those tractors was 1-Low and let clutch out. Don't mess up and try to start it from the ground. If running in the field and can't shut it off for baler "issues" or something just turn the wheels all the way one way or other so she sits. Adjust that clutch linkage like Gearclash says and you'll likely be fine on that. Lube the brake pedals/linkages with oil or check for zerks. Parking brake could just be out of adjustment or a busted cable or something. Just gotta snoop around and find out.
