What do you guys think? Is it a good idea to use epoxy putty to fill the gap that the twine has worn in the eye of the needle to fill it up?

Thanks. I recently broke a needle but decided to replace both needles since the "surviving" needle had been previously welded so I was planning to keep it as a spare and filling the gap in the eye with JB weld or something instead of dumping money on an already welded needle.

I agree with josh and Jim. JB Weld is great for alot of things but this application is one where you have to fill with metal.

Big tip when using JB Weld that I discovered. When trying to smooth the epoxy out spit on your finger and smooth away. The epoxy won't stick to your finger and you can smooth the JB weld out like glass. Water will not work. Used this method to epoxy intake manifolds for racing where welding was illegal.
