I was told Compton grass was a good forage grass and high in protein but I can't find any information about it. Not sure if the name is correct. If it is, would it be a viable option for us here in West Central Georgia? Good you tell me more about it or lead me where to find more information. By the way, just found this site and it seems to be just what we need.

Of course that's what he means mike.....Compton is southern drawl for Johnson just depends on which a way y'all wanna intepetrate that ;)

Welcome to haytalk steve.....you're probably asking about Johnson grass, but idk.....we have a bunch of it in Georgia. It is a good forage grass and it is high in protein, but I don't particularly like it.....hopefully y'all are gettin some much needed moisture tonite.......
