Hi, I planted 12 A of alfalfa / orchardgrass a month or so ago. I had got field smoothed out, waited 5 days, sprayed roundup and planted about 7 days later. Got a good stand, but am seeing lot of broadleaves now. Be wanting to spray with Butyrac but the weather won't cooperate, temps over 90* but mostly chance of t storms every other day. Butyrac label says shouldn't spray if rain called for in next 7-10 days. The broadleaves are already taller than the label is calling for in spots. What to do? Spray? Clip with mower ? Any ideas or what have you fellows done. Thanks

Tough call. Butyrac does not do well on large weeds even with high rates of 2-3 qts. Think you might have to mow and spray later as long running on it won't damage the small plants and grass.

Thanks, now if would dry up a little to get on the field, seems we are getting T storms every other day. But 1st cutting is in, 2nd cutting is looking good. Took hay to auction last two weeks and got the highest price there both weeks. $ 260 & $265 PER TON.
