I took our 499 haybine into the NH dealer for the yearly maintenance. I had a knock I could not find so asked them to check on it for me.

Well, it looks lik $1500 in repairs. The rolls slightly out of time due to worn yokes and shafts. The cross shaft that runs the header was bent and blew a bearing. Plus the lift hoses are weeping.

So much for that downpayment for a newer baler.

At least we will be in good shape for this season....wait I still have to straighten that darned sheet metal that was pretzeled by the fence post.

I have a baler to tear into before hay season. Nothing major(I hope), just usual maintenance. I night put new chains on it this year. They are close to being at the end of their adjustment. I rebushed the flywheel and put a new shear bolt arm on it last year so that's one thing I don't have to worry about this year. Also have to put all new belts on the mower conditioner as well as a bunch of sickle sections and chains.
