I'm looking at a 2005 JD 530 MoCo with intentions of purchasing. Can anyone tell me any major differences between the 530 and 630? Is a 5085 JD gonna have have enough HP to pull it? the biggest question is will impellor type be sufficient for johnsongrass?

I don't know the differences but I can tell you from my experience an impeller type will not work good for JG.  You need a roll machine to crack the stems.  I run a 630 with rubber rolls.  I have pulled my 630 with my 5083E with no problem.  But my regular cutting tractor is a 2955.

I run a 630 flail with no problems at all running with a 5105m many times in epto in 3 ton acre grass hay at 4-5 mph faster if I wanted i think a 5085 would be fine, at worst you would run slower....no clue about flails and jg we try to kill jg here....don't know the specific differences on the 530 if any
