load baron bundles pretty much all on there there side. Works well with straw or really tight hay. Fine alfalfa can be an issue if they sit on there side too long. It wants to compress the bale in the bundle making bales looser. Short term it is no problem on alfalfa.

Out of field I load from side of trailer onto flatbed.

Out of barn I load into vans from the rear.

Have loaded vans all from ground with large telehandler. Last couple years been loading vans with large skid steer and load dock. I load half trailer from the ground, then bump a dock and push it to the front. Then load back half from the ground again. That way i am not constantly climbing a load dock.

I agree with you on storing bundles on their side. It works but bales can deform. The only time I do it is if it helps reduce height allowing me to stack around building framing or trusses. I do haul them on their sides in vans.

I load nearly everything out from docks with small skid or small tele.

How do you like that Mack?

I like it a lot. It has a heavy allison auto which is nice for seasonal help in bailing and harvest. I finally learned semis are so much nicer than pickups for hauling.

I bought a '15 a year ago with the 12 speed mdrive. Was sceptical about an autoshift but I really like it.
