I saw this thread a couple days ago reminded me of why I carry a 21/2 gallon water and a dry chemical extinguisher on my tractor when baling. I have been baling Kline grass hay last couple days and noticed my tractor making a little more smoke than normal. I normally carry a laser temp gauge to check bearing temp, went back to my truck and could not find it went back to the house looked every where no luck. Then I remembered I started some ribs on the pit left the temp gauge for the little woman to keep the pit temp correct but she was at a barrel race could not get a hold of her finally looked in my tool box and low and behold she put it in my box but not where I keep it. Went back to the field and all temps were the same on the bearings. Next morning baled 5 rounds and the extra smoke was back on exhaust baled a couple more and heard the bearing squall checked them with the temp gauge top idler roller bearings were 30 degrees hotter than the rest pulled the roller out and she had one rough bearing and one that would turn a half round and lock up. Looked the bearings up on jd parts 117.30 each also replacing the bearing on the tongue for pto shaft 49.30 at the JD house and the tongue bearing would have to order. Went to the big bearing store roller bearings 39.90 tongue bearing12.70. Total @ JD house before tax and shipping 284.40. Total at big bearing 92.50 overnight air freight 72.55 total 165.93 so before any tax or shipping from JD saved 118.47 and they are the exact same bearings. Wonder how much revenue this has cost JD and Wonder if it matters to them. I think the laser temp gauges can save a lot if not all the baler fires if they were used in the appropriate manner as in when baling a checks a day maybe more on older equipment or equipment that you have concerns about. That is MHO and you can take MHO and 4 bucks and get a cup of coffee maybe. HAGD

do you have pictures of mounts?

As requested. I’ll get some close ups of the mount. All aluminum just for the fun of it, and over engineered.
