I raise bermuda grass hay in southwest Louisiana. I built a barn a few years ago and have had problems with the bottom bales molding. The floor of my barn is made of silty clay base covered with 6 ml visqueen and 1×6 untreated lumber. I use a NH stackliner to pick up the hay. This prevents me from using pallets or viqueen to place the hay on. Spraying chlorox on the floor prior to baling has seemed to help but not eliminate the problem. The front of my barn is open, but the sided and back is closed in. I am thinking about using hay preservative but unsure if it works and concerned that my customers will reject the hay. Any suggestions? Thanks
