I'll either be trading in or selling my 644 outright and replacing it with either a 740 Silage Special or a 740A Silage Special, other than the years, what if any are the differences between these two models? I've had one salesman tell me that the 740A's have a lot of updates from the 740's and yet another tell me any differences are minor at best. I'm asking as I've found a 740 Silage Special with very few bales on it for 17,000 USD. Is there really enough difference between the machines to pass this one up and keep looking for a 740A?

I've had experience with the 750 and 750A - the biggest changes I could find were with the stuffer, a few minor changes to the net wrap mechanisms and a few chain updates. Hope this helps. If you have a good deal with a 740 I would'nt hesitate to buy it
