Cooling on a SP Balewagon Anyone ever changed from a manual cooling fan to an electric one?
The dealership said they no longer make the baring that holds the cooling fan….
So does anyone know of a different bearing that would work?
Also the dealership said that it could be changed to an electric one… But I have not seen many electric fans at a resizable price that would move the amount of air that the stock one does…. it needs all the help it can to stay cool…
Also I was thinking of I changed over to an electric pan if I could make it reversible?
Thanks

Re: Cooling on a SP Balewagon Not real familiar with SP balewagons. When I converted one of our grain trucks from a gas to diesel I had absolutely no room for a mechanical fan. A trip to the junkyard to get four small electric fans solved the problem. This truck never gets warmer than what the fans are set to kick in at, course I've never had problems keeping 3208's cool anyways.

Re: Cooling on a SP Balewagon Had a NH 1069 that we took the factory fan out and put in eletric fans. we had a large fan pulling air from back and 2 in front blowing air in. never got hot in field but the road travel back to the barn it ran very hot, but it was better than the one that came with it.

Re: Cooling on a SP Balewagon It doesn’t seem to have many issues on the road.... Did you have a 351 or I think 461 in you 1069? This one is just a 351.... It really only has issues on 100 degree days but I don't want to stop on those 100 degree days because of a week fan. We have about a week or two of that weather.
Any model fans you guys like? Cars they came off of? Also I heard a PT Cruiser has a strong one?
What about a way to stay with a manual fan?
If you can see the pully drives the fan and the post to the left of it is where the fan is mounted on baring.....Last edited by hay hauler; 02-24-2010 at 11:25 AM.
