Alot of us producers up here in Michigan are seeing a whole slew of fall annual and very early maturing perennial grasses invade our hay stands. Early maturing and browing before first cutting and zero palatability and making some bales look like straw. Extension has a weed specialist doing some herbicide trials in Michigans thumb region and I found Penn State has some herbicides listed for control of annual bluegrass and chess. Mostly what I am seeing is roughstalk bluegrass. I looked at the label of Prowl H2O and am considering that. It is not labeled for control of Orchardgrass and timothy and does not state, do not use on mixed stands so I am curious if I can control some of these grasses in mixed stands? I know I can put Raptor and Post on mixed stands and it does not really do much to established perennial grasses, which is what I still want. Any advice would be appreciated? Also I did not find anything labled for roughstalk bluegrass (perennial) but annual bluegrass is listed?
