@  Grateful11 : (04 August 2015 - 11:32 PM) Since my "wife" started using....... She's proofreading my messages.
@  Bgriffin856 : (04 August 2015 - 11:22 PM) He just stiched the vulva up some and told us to remove them in a few days he tubed a couple gallons of water and soultion in her to flush her out and help hold th uterus in place. We usually have one a year not bad for 60 or so calvings imo. We've learned that if something doesn't seem right giving them a bottle or two of cmpk solution prevents alot of problems
@  Grateful11 : (04 August 2015 - 11:14 PM) Bgriffin856: Did the Vet use a pin device to hold the uterus in place or something else? Since my started using the highest Selenium minerals during calving season she could find they haven't had any prolapse problems, knock on wood.
@  Bgriffin856 : (04 August 2015 - 10:07 PM) Hope it was a great day azmike and Ontario
@  Bgriffin856 : (04 August 2015 - 10:06 PM) Cow had a large bull calf last night come in milked fine. Didn't come in this morning found her lay on a bank downhill with a prolapsed uterus. Breathing was very shallow got her off the bank and gave a cmpk iv called the vet. He was concerned about swelling so used cold water and Epsom salts to bring swelling down and got it put back in and some meds. The vets first time using Epsom salts and he said it went so easy and well that he's gonna use them as standard procedure. She was up eating and drinking came in the barn and milked. We'll see what tomorrow brings
@  Bgriffin856 : (04 August 2015 - 09:55 PM) Well stack I've been just too plain busy for haytalk lately but im sure I'll find your reasons. I know how you feel from being a member on another site Im a member of. Do what you gotta do sometimes a break is needed
@  deadmoose : (04 August 2015 - 09:47 PM) Stack- sorry to hear. Sometimes you gotta just ignore a few. Life is tough. Hope Stack Jr. the best.
@  jturbo10 : (04 August 2015 - 08:32 PM) broadriverhay: Have the BC5060 baler going on about three years. Once you get it set right it just keeps turning them out without a miss. The only time when it missed a few bales was when I had the knives sharpened at the dealership and chains adjusted. If you have some rough ground the trip arm can move around a bit and cause the bales to not be consistent. I just put a vice grip on the very end to stabilize the arm and the problem went away. The hint to do this came from the internet. I have the hydraulic swing arm but should have also got the hydraulic pickup reel. I think you will be very pleased with the new baler.
@  broadriverhay : (04 August 2015 - 07:26 PM) Thanks guys . I hated to spend the money but baling 8000 or so a year was realy pushing the 42 year old NH 273. I have a spare 273 and it got the hay out of the field but surely not a baler to rely on . Thats why I decided to buy the 5070. What I baled today averaged abt 90 bales per acre.
@  deadmoose : (04 August 2015 - 07:21 PM) As sweet Brown said, "ain't nobody got time for that!". Hope the new baler treats you well.
@  Vol : (04 August 2015 - 07:15 PM) Good for you broadriver...nothing like new iron....hope you have great luck with it.
@  broadriverhay : (04 August 2015 - 07:10 PM) Well after 5300 bales without a miss my old 273 plunger knives got crossed up . It bent the knives and i think some other things . So as I've said before I don't have time for problems like this. So the new BC 5070 arrived yesterday. So much larger than the 273 and looks to be very well built. I ran about 350 through it today..
@  Vol : (04 August 2015 - 06:17 PM) Did I miss something stack??....send me a pm.
@  stack em up : (04 August 2015 - 06:08 PM) I need to take a HayTalk break, some posts just rub a person the wrong way.
@  Vol : (04 August 2015 - 05:57 PM) That will be interesting turbo to see how the Donald does....he says he is not a debater and is just going to be himself....never know, that may turn out big for him.
@  gardr1 : (04 August 2015 - 04:50 PM) New holland bake size
@  Bonfire : (04 August 2015 - 03:55 PM) 94 degrees, 59% humidity makes for a 111 degree heat index in the bottom of Va. Wind is at 1 mph. Fun stuff.
@  jturbo10 : (04 August 2015 - 02:08 PM) 97 degrees, 45 % humidity, light winds, cloudy skies. Another dry day with worse to come this weekend. Happy Birthday AZMike. Good Luck to "The Donald" on Thurs.
@  Lostin55 : (04 August 2015 - 12:21 PM) Happy Birthday AZMike
@  stack em up : (04 August 2015 - 11:36 AM) Happy birthday azmike! And Ontario hay man if he's still around....
