@  luke strawwa... : (30 March 2015 - 05:24 PM) My nephew's girlfriend and her family do maple syrup as part of their income... sell it at fairs and stuff during the summer... GOOD GOLLY that stuff is wonderful! Sure puts to shame the chemically-flavored corn syrup that passes for store bought syrup...
@  stack em up : (30 March 2015 - 02:39 PM) *them
@  stack em up : (30 March 2015 - 02:39 PM) And thanks to devildawg, I have tried boiled peanuts! I may send him some money for more of the !
@  deadmoose : (30 March 2015 - 01:46 PM) Good to see how my peanuts make it out of the ground. Now to try "boiled peanuts" one day.
@  Dill : (30 March 2015 - 11:40 AM) More snow and 31 I don't have high hopes for today. However the ground froze up again so no new ruts. And my baler showed up from Canada.
@  Dill : (30 March 2015 - 07:12 AM) Have to say I really enjoyed your peanut lesson. I had not idea how that harvest went.
@  somedevildawg : (30 March 2015 - 07:04 AM) Well, I had no idea that the tree produced all of the sugar, guess its like peanuts growin in the ground, lessen you've done it, it's a foreign concept
@  Shetland She... : (30 March 2015 - 06:40 AM) 31º and overcast here in srn NH. 30% chance of rain/snow with a high of 44º forecast for today.
@  IH 1586 : (30 March 2015 - 06:17 AM) Nothing like firing up the evaporator on a 70 degree day at the end of the season.
@  Dill : (30 March 2015 - 06:00 AM) Technically you can do it when the leaves are coming off in the fall. Its the same concept, warm days and cold nights. But no one does it. Becuase the sugar content is very low. The trees boost the sugar content during the winter dormancy. And its harder to clean up and the end of the fall season cause everything is froze solid. In april is warmer to be outside washing everything.
@  IH 1586 : (30 March 2015 - 04:41 AM) Hey Dill, my cousin went to college for forestry, the teacher was explaining to the class when maple syrup was made. Said it was made in the fall before the trees froze. Cousin raised his hand and said that's wrong. Teacher asked how he knew. Because my family makes it, that shut him right up.
@  Bgriffin856 : (29 March 2015 - 11:55 PM) Thanks moose. Got another 4 or so this week or so
@  FarmerCline : (29 March 2015 - 11:25 PM) Thanks fellas.
@  NDVA HAYMAN : (29 March 2015 - 11:09 PM) Happy birthday Hayden
@  jturbo10 : (29 March 2015 - 10:59 PM) 11pm and it is still almost 70 degrees. Was in high 80s today with sunny skies and brisk winds. Can't wait for the wind to die down so I can get some fishing done.
@  deadmoose : (29 March 2015 - 10:29 PM) Good deal Grif.
@  Bgriffin856 : (29 March 2015 - 10:19 PM) Happy Birthday Luke Strawwalker
@  Bgriffin856 : (29 March 2015 - 10:15 PM) Happy birthday FarmerCline you make me feel like an old timer ;)
