@  Shetland She... : (01 December 2015 - 06:59 AM) 20º and mostly cloudy here in srn NH. 60% chance of rain later today.
@  somedevildawg : (01 December 2015 - 05:33 AM) I'm sure ole machinery Pete never checks in with Haytalk, but he's a birthday boy today so Happy Birthday Pete, thanks for the info....never dreamed one could make a living going to auctions and not be the auctioneer.....congrats
@  Vol : (01 December 2015 - 01:53 AM) No liquids in any form here moose. Been raining since Sunday....over 3 inches now....very thankful the temps have been in the sixties.
@  mlappin : (30 November 2015 - 11:27 PM) Yep, pretty funny, we paid to have cover crops flown on so they’d get a headstart only to have a neighbor burndown his hayfield this fall so he could fall chisel it for corn in the spring. Have no-tilled a lot of corn into hay that has been fall burnt, spring burnt or even standing yet and always have a hell of a corn crop from it.
@  deadmoose : (30 November 2015 - 11:24 PM) I hear some of you guys pay big bucks for water. Cover fields in winter and it really charges subsoil moisture for months.
@  deadmoose : (30 November 2015 - 11:23 PM) Free snow here. any takers?
@  deadmoose : (30 November 2015 - 10:56 PM) We are on the same page.
@  glasswrongsize : (30 November 2015 - 10:43 PM) Moose, I think we're saying the same thing as very few guns fall into the category of tripping-my-trigger (pun intended). I'm nearly ashamed to say that I still have a handful of guns which I have made the time to shoot yet. Took 3 years before I ever shot my tommy-gun. Owned a gunshop for a few years and laid my hands on some pretty neat stuff...none at retail.
@  mlappin : (30 November 2015 - 10:42 PM) best thing I ever did, no ash in the house, nor bark, bugs or other crap and the air doesn’t dry out with your fire outdoors. Home insurance also went down as well as danger of chimney fires is eliminated.
@  glasswrongsize : (30 November 2015 - 10:40 PM) @mlappin, I was just giving my rationale for the reason that I THOUGHT I should have inside stove...I was dead wrong. As like you, I gotta run a gen when power goes out anyway. Not too late to put a wood burner out there and I already have propane heat too. I just envision dollar signs every time (if ever) it kicks on.
@  mlappin : (30 November 2015 - 10:23 PM) @glasswrongsize, I still have a portable generator setup for emergencies, cows still need water, fences need to work and if its cold the heaters in the waterers need to work
@  deadmoose : (30 November 2015 - 09:56 PM) what you really want.
@  deadmoose : (30 November 2015 - 09:56 PM) Mark- 60% if you "kinda" wanted it. Depending on setup maybe 5-7 for the colt. 2 bills for the bar. Sounds like he is in the ballpark of retail. Now if u wanna pay retail for something you did not know you wanted, go to a gun shop and get what you deall
@  mlappin : (30 November 2015 - 09:56 PM) Yah, I ca see that wit the power issue. Some people set up a battery and inverter just to run their pumps and control. I’m pretty lucky in my location, have three phase for starters and the state park is hooked up after me and their water level in the lake is controlled by three phase, then also they have a butt load of cabins that are rented out year round and only have electric baseboard heat.
@  glasswrongsize : (30 November 2015 - 09:33 PM) Dawg. not that anyone has to tell anyone else how to trade, but I NEVER allow going price for anything I take in on trade. I figure @60%...THEY want what YOU have and evidently don't wanna turn loose of-or don't have the greenbacks. I always explain...if I really WANTED one and was willing to give full price...then I would already HAVE one.
@  glasswrongsize : (30 November 2015 - 09:28 PM) Most of the time, I wish I had went with a wood boiler with hot water (potable) interface. But when the power is out (which is kinda frequent and I'm the last to be fixed in my remote location) I am thankful of the inside one.
@  Vol : (30 November 2015 - 09:27 PM) Never could figure some folks buying a high $ weapon and then put a walmart eyepiece on it.....
@  Vol : (30 November 2015 - 09:25 PM) Be nice to have a AR.....and the Belgium are money in the bank....have you layed eyes on them?? Condition....might kick over the pos scope and tell him that its a deal breaker at that price and then offer him what you think.
@  mlappin : (30 November 2015 - 09:18 PM) Used to do that glasswrongsize, either wake up to a cold house or leave the damper open enough to keep the house warm then have to get up at 3am to add more wood, outdoor wood boiler ended all that foolishness years ago. Set the thermostat at 72 and it stays there 24/7
@  somedevildawg : (30 November 2015 - 09:11 PM) I agree TJ....money
