Gazeeka Model 870 – Baler Mounted Moisture Meter
Our new patented microwave technology measures moisture of the entire bale. This technology has been adapted from the coal mining, cotton and tobacco industries. Moisture is measured 50 times a second and is accurate to within 0.5% compared to oven dried samples at Dairyland Labs. This technology is far more accurate and reliable than conductivity measurements.
Two microwave antennae are mounted on the baler so as to analyze the hay bale as it passes. At the exact location where moisture is high a spot of paint is sprayed on both sides of the bale. This helps isolate potential hot spots as you bale. The paint spots are easily noticed when being picked up for stacking. The wet bales can then be segregated from the rest of the bales to avoid excessive heating and potential fires in the stacks.
The LCD moisture display unit is mounted in the tractor cabin, providing updates every few seconds. The unit also has an audible alarm for high and low moisture levels. It is calibrated for cereal hay, alfalfa hay, grass hay and mixed hay.
